Oh, by the way, I finished the Glenlivet on Friday night. Want to go half on something aged a little longer, 15 or 18 years maybe?

You know, drinking that scotch for a while, and now even Maker's Mark seems rough.

Just wait until we get used to the 18 year old Scotch, and you start saying "I don't know how I ever drank that 10 year old swill." Then you're really spoiled.
It's the same with cigars. Mark lit a Phillie blunt after the game last night, and boy did it stink. He couldn't even finish it, and threw it away when he hit a patch of filler and tar. I don't even know why he bothers to buy those things. I'm looking forward to having a good cigar to go with the aged Scotch... Only problem is, at your place, we really don't have anywhere to sit and smoke them like we did at your old place.

I've been thinking about asking Eric if he'd mind having the game at his house, at least until I move.

I believe that I have no regard for alcohol I really just drink whatever. Although, I have had instant headaches from this cheap ass mead that I bought once! So I'm a little relecutant on the "new mead" trial but I'll drink anything as long as its not contaminated and "I'm drinking". I refrain from alcohol during the week and I also refrain while gaming if its an open to the public game or if it is people that I know the drinks will start once they're drunk enough to not know that I'm drinking*... *That video started after several hours of playing.

Ohhh, that's a nasty DM trick! Do I get a saving throw against divine intervention? Oh, and 154 posts to 3749 - and I'm the posting whore?

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Winter -- bah!
One of the things I most enjoy is a smooth Scotch, a good cigar, and a place to sit and smoke... like a porch that's not covered in snow. Oh yeah, and friends that don't constantly complain while you try to enjoy your smoke.
"What is best in life?"
"The Balvenie... Cohiba... and a place to sit and smoke without having to listen the lamentations of the women!"

I ended up playing this weekend with my cousin and nephew. Much of their success can be attributed to Maylin's rope of entanglement. It's one of the toughest items in the book I think. They surprised a 12th level illusionist, one of the big bad guys of the level, and took him out before he got a single spell off. What a haul then ended up with. I have to run the GD series for these guys.

I agree the rope of entanglement is one of those super-items. It's annoyingly powerful. I never liked the fact that the target gets no saving throw, and also has no chance to cut himself out. Basically, if something is in range, it's held. I've always wondered if EGG really meant it to be so powerful, to be so unavoidable... it only is worth 1250 XP and 12,000 GP (that's less than either boots of levitation or a periapt of proof against poison, to put it in perspective). There are other powerful items and effects in the game, sure, but even artifacts have downsides to them...

In most cases, it just ties up some minions, the party usually doesn't get the shot to take out the boss within range, it was a series of lucky breaks they got. But when it happens, it really sucks. I think I am going to stick with these guys for a bit. Take them through some of the high level classics. They're pretty good players, and it's a chance to run these adventures for a group that has no knowledge of the content whatsoever.

I've noticed that theres always some cheesing going on with anything magical. That particular item more than half the the time gets destroyed by overzealous players wanting to "get their hits in anyway" especially if its a "paladin in the party" party... "Does he have time to tell me the rope is magical? Because my fighter wouldn't know that, right?"
