I think, for the game setting, I would cut out the Tharizdun/Nerull connectrion from the SB, but would not remove the religious aspect completely. I think they need a more fitting patron. I've been puting together an idea for a demi-god that is like a cross between Hextor and Xan Yae.

Yeah, I don't use the Tharizdun as Uber-Deity to the SB either. It just doesn't make sense. Now, the SB trying to harness Big T's power--that could fly! Like Hitler trying to harness the Spear of Destiny... As for Xan Yae; the whole mix-up with Zuoken deal caused me to rewrite the latter deity as a "thief demigod", and I treat Xan Yae as N(L) instead of just Neutral. Overall god of the SB? Maybe each member actually worships his own Suel deity of Law--maybe some even worsip arch-devils like the Horned Society was originally purported to do!

They are referred to as devil worshippers in the Gord stories, right? I really don’t like that either though. If it was just a bunch of disgruntled old Suel getting together then I think a more free-for-all approach to the gods would work, but because of their 'militant religious order' origin, I think they should have some common patron. At least the top wrung. They could be distorting the worship of a greater Suel pantheon for the lesser members to make it more appealing, but I think the cabal in charge should be tied to some sinister power.
