From this line in S4 LOST CAVERNS OF TSOJCANTH (1982):
And
Where there is wiggle room for some secret knowledge in a chaotic evil language to make something obviously right to some but others will assume wrongly for the cover up.
Without giving it away its a foreshadowing of a location on the map.

Coming together nicely, Gene. Wonderful encounter for seasoned, jaded players.

Coming together nicely, Gene. Wonderful encounter for seasoned, jaded players. There is not going to be a smooth transition in any way whatsoever from 2A to 2B. 2B's location is just coincidental and not level based in regards to the former. Low level characters fine for the upcoming installment 2B would be expected to avoid the troll cave of 2A of course.

Updates:
Made some strides towards the final approach of the "for sale" adventure. I wish I could just explain the overall approach but I don't want to spoil anything. Anyway, have a few peripherals mapped more but not final mapped and this is the last leg of it before I work on advertising some of the imagery.
Blog is still rumbling with slight background activity but I just have to focus more on it to get a post out. (Any suggestions are going to be taken into account.)

I wish that I could give more updates but the wheels are turning slow again. I got another encounter area finished completely and the second one is almost complete. I have to work on a satellite area and a micro-dungeon area.
The TOEE thing I went to look it over and jotted more detail down but until I finish this other thing that is slow close to finishing its low priority.
The last thing I did was a cartoon for the blog so I feel I need more content oriented shit first before I go do the "quickie" stuff like that.

Did some work tonight on the mutli-blog post.
I also worked on maps for the extra "micro-dungeon" that is in the module. So thats almost 99% done altogether for maps of areas.

"So, Lord Acyfer, are you neutral, True Neutral, into maintaining the Balance, or what?" Corlag asked. Acyfer inhaled from a burning "Weed of the Dragon" and narrowed his four eyes before exhaling: "Dude, you are like way too invested in that question."

I like the creativity and variety of these monsters, and the pencil drawings. The theme of "they are not what they seem" is very Gygaxian and reminiscent of the thief-guide in the DMG Sample Dungeon adventure, the jovial priest in B2, Obmi in G3, Silussa and Belgos in D3, the Dao in S4, Kobort and Turuko and Zert in T1, the werewolves behind the lens of transformation in T1-4, etc. They play severely with expectations since many let their guard down after initially being helped... These monsters remind me a bit of that movie MIMIC, John Carpenter's THE THING, and what you might find in a Vancian setting: the vat-grown life in THE DYING EARTH, the indigenous aliens in THE PNUME, or the pseudowoman in THE WARRIOR OF WORLD'S END by Lin Carter.

Yes, trying to plug in to that "mimic" vibe as this series is sort of a "things in the dungeon" and "things beyond the dungeon" theme. So far anyway, the next and final part of this is more plugged in to the "Anti-Demon" than this but you'll see.
One of these (upcoming) articles has a massive element that is incomplete so I might have to relegate it to the cutting room but I really don't want to. Anyway that one is huge. It might be a six parter or more.

There was an error on the last post "The Profaner" where the golem didn't match the title of the ability. Its now fixed . (Thanks to James C. Boney for pointing that out)

Error again on The Profaner. Allan ("Grodog") pointed out the HD seemed high on the level chart. It was supposed to be 13 was "name level". Fixed it.

Nice work, Gene. You've been putting me to shame with your creative output. I feel like there is a story behind the Anti-Demon, temporions and Profaner class if they emerged out of your home campaign. Was there a "fuckwit" NPC that one of your druid players hated? What's the story? I like the temporions, and they remind me of the modrons, but in a good way meaning logical progression and variation on a theme but without the silliness.

Probably the biggest influence was people playing druids exploring the idea of neutrality. And an inkling of where it was going. The whole spiel started with talk of the antipaladin and are there other anti-classes. So I had mentioned in play an antidemon statue was worshipped by antidruids and they were mostly thrown together clerics with magicuser spells. There it lingered until later there were golems created by anti-druids guarding a ruin of a slum. The play of the class comes from piecing together "bad druids". The character mentioned Nymus the Rash is based on the npc druid Zhar the Summoner spelled backward.

I've moved to editing, layout and final illustrations for upcoming module to be published. The cover painting was 90% done a year ago but I wanted it to speak about the final product so I ceased until I could contemplate it with the whole body in mind. If this does well I might go straight to the indirect sequel which is the big one.
