Has anybody read this book? It was pretty good. One of the better non-Lovecraft Cthulhu stories. It was set in the present, and the story was about Cthulhu waking up. Many Lovecraft elements were tied in. They drop a nuke on R'lyeh. It's out of print, but worth the read if you can find it.

I read quite a few tie-ins to the mythos by Bloch but I missed that one. Weird.

I think I read this back in highschool. Was this the one were they blow him up just as he's waking? I thought they used nukes a couple of time though. g-images.amazon.com/images/G/01/ciu/a7/b8/ec15b2c008a0c5278a054010._AA240_.L.jpgI don't remember this being the cover though, so I guess I may be wrong. was this the one with some old guy running around wearing dark goggles because his eyes had been burnt out, but could see with improved sinces. Brings back memories.

Hmmm, I seem to have missed this one, too, unless it's a short story vs. a novel?? I do have a collection or two of Bloch's Mythos stories, but ths one doesn't ring a bell. Chaosium released a collection of three non-standard period CoC adventures a few years ago, also called Strange Aeons: one was set in Elizabethan England (a good adventure!, takes place during a Shakespeare performance), one a few hundred years before that, and another in the near future on Mars IIRC. Pretty good
