What forms of adventure publishing are out there right now?
I was thinking of just publishing a generic adventure in the vein of AD&D myself. What is the fastest route?

Well...after a day of searching, it seems that a do-it-yourself approach is required. I guess thats what I'm going to have to do my own D20 variant.

What would happen if you published an adventure with no more references to specific rules, than say, G1?

thats what I was thinking but it'd have to have a little reference. I'm thinking doing a different game but make the adventures totally compatible.

Before there was a C&C, EGG was talking to me about the system options for CZ. At the time my opinion was that he didn't need to worry about a new system. The OGL/SRD was broad enough that he could use it to write an OGL compliant game that was compatible with 1E. I sent him some stat block examples to prove my point. But ‘generic’ didn’t sit well with him, and he was completely against 3E/D20. My opinion is that there would be no C&C if Gary didn’t insist on writing for a ‘living’ system he was comfortable with. The decision drove me crazy at the time, but as time has passed, I’ve begun to feel the same way, and it’s probably what derails most of the projects I’ve started working on. I know I want to write and publish, but I can’t escape system Limbo.

I'm going to make a simple game that says "Hey, this is easily recognizable as nothing to do with another game and clearly a unique creation." Then the shorthand of the adventures will be instantly recognizable for any fantasy rpg. And I can expand upon it later if there is a demand.

Can you self-publish with reference to the C&C system? Is that allowed?

I believe no but don't quote me on that!
