I thought they left out the 1973 Marvel Comics continuing sequel KILLRAVEN but they had it on the other page OTHER IMAGES. I recall with the exception of a one page synopsis of the original novel and a two page followup of what happened in the aftermath that the series was 99.99999% completely original. The "sirens of 7th avenue", mutants and vagina-faced "masters", etc., I remember having later issues of this first and not understanding the connection to the original book until I got that first explanation.

Amazing - and very cool! I've got the '61 Dolphin version and the awesome '64 Airmont Books edition.

Yeah, that's a nice display of covers of various versions of War of the Worlds... and it's not even all-inclusive! I especially like the artists' renderings and drawings, and the animation of the possibilities for how tripods walk. One of the things I did like about the 2005 movie was the visual depiction of the tripod machines.
I am always tempted to start buying special editions or vintage editions of all my favorite books... I could easily get the collector bug, but try to resist it.

Hey Gene, I lost track of the more recent Killraven materials, but I remember the old ones. Good stuff! I used to love Neal Adams art... actually, I still do!

I didn't even know they revived Killraven but I guess they have. I was referring to the late 70's is when I picked it up and then I got the older ones later in a clearance box. BTW, I remember some of the best comics that I ever read were in clearance boxes! AMAZING ADVENTURES: WAR OF THE WORLDS: FEATURING KILLRAVEN was okay but it sagged a bit. I wonder what it would look like if Kirby was still onboard as chief designer? FANTASTIC FOUR #24 had a similiar ship to the fifties WOTW: Heres a great cover by Jim Starlin: Although the interiors were by somebody else. Didn't you hate that?
