Just wanted to let people know that myself and my two friends Henry and Tim will be attending. I haven't gone to a big comic con in about two dog's ages (15 years or more?) so it should prove interesting. I've actually never met Stan Lee so that should prove to be a laugh as I admire him immensely (the charm and mentality of Lee stories) and simultaneously raise an eyebrow (the "Funky Flashman" side that Kirby parodied.) Anyway theres old artists like Walt Simonson and Frank Miller around too. I want to get a chance to meet Bob "Hercules mini-series" Layton and see what he's like.

Hey, I'd like to read them too! Man, those old comics you have to love. I'm partial to Jack Kirby and Stan Lee so I yap about that all the time but I was literally raised on sci-fi and horror comic book anthologies. Too bad I didn't own any pre-70's anthologies though. It was against my childhood principles to "borrow" from people that I knew so I never "retained" all those oldies. Part of me just wishes that I did though as they were discarded.

I have a few Strange Adventures, and the complete (albeit rather short...) run of From Beyond The Unknown. Some of the stories were very hokey; some were excellent... all were enjoyable! ^__^

Thats Henry with the motor mouth and Taylor is the big guy. I was filming so I didn't get any commentary.

The Pittsburgh Comicon is this weekend. I wasn't planning on going, but you never know. The only con guest I ever liked meeting was R. Lee Ermey, the drill sergeant from Full Metal Jacket. I had a cool autographed pic, but then my kid scribbled all over it.

I just checked it out. Not a bad assortment (Michael "Micronauts" Golden, ex-TSR alumni Tim "the half-ogre" Truman, David "Vader" Prowse, Tom "DotD" Savini to name a few.), I'd go if Pennsylvania wasn't so huge!

The fastest I made the drive from Brooklyn to Pittsburgh, or vise versa, was about six hours, but that was taking the long way to avoid turnpike tolls. I used to make that trip a lot when I was dating the Ruski that lived on Ocean Pkwy.
