Does a list exist that specifies which monsters fequently hang out together. The monster manual lists common associations among giant class for instance. It would be neat to see a list put together that covers all of those more common associations described in the MM and other places.

Off the top of my head . . . Ghasts are often found with ghouls. Violet fungi is found with shreikers. I suppose it is likely for skeletons and zombies to be together. For that Tolkien feel, goblins and orcs can have worgs with them. Nightmares are often used as mounts for demons and other such creatures. A number of creatures use other animals or monsters as guards for their lairs.

In one of the original booklets, or in the Greyhawk Supplement, there is a list of possible monster combos. Scott

The list was in the Monsters & Treasure booklet, the Monsters & Treasure section of the Greyhawk Supplement, or both. Scott

The combination of various monsters is among the most exciting aspects of dungeon dressing and IMO there shouldn't be a lot of common pairings since that tends to make dungeons more alike and less fantastic. Reducing a monsters acquintances makes them less versatile.
