Yeah, that was awesome! And very timely right before Gary Con XV. It is also a grim reminder to me also not to wait to do the things that are important... I always meant to come out to Lake Geneva to meet EGG and thank him in person for the game that means so much to me, but I never did... That is one of my worst regrets. On the upside, I've been attending Gary Con since 2020 so I am grateful for all of the RPG-related people I've been able to meet. I got to play in a game DMed by Ernie last year and will get to repeat that this year!

The hard thing about talking to popular people is trying to avoid the sports conversation. Morons will come out of the woodwork in droves to put your conversation to death. Every time that I see Gary's face, I see Frank Mentzer, and a hotel guy who was cleaning out garbage pails who heard "Greenbay packers", aggressively derailing my Tsojcanth talk.

Yeah, any conversation with a famous person in a public place is on a timer... And when it is up, someone else is barging in and there's nothing you can really do about it if the famous person feels they need to spread their attention around to be polite. Luke is one of the most popular and central figures at Gary Con, so it is difficult to have any conversation with him.

The worst was waiting on the line with Henry, of my video with the beard back in 2008 or so, derailing anything that I had to say with the Iron Man artist, Bob Layton, to talk about Laytons football cup that he had pens in. It was the highest order of complete waste of time. I dumped him from doing anything like that again. I'm spending hours thinking about old comics just to have it erased without a word. Just to have Layton grab the next guys thing to end all the endless sports talk abruptly. Do not mix sports fans with famous people was the lesson.
