I saw this last night and enjoyed it while I was watching it but soon afterwards became very critical, much in the same way I did for the last Doctor Strange movie. Too much CGI. The stakes don't feel that high because none of it seems real and I kind of tune out. Lots of CGI characters died but it seemed video game-like with them bursting apart into CGI fluff. None of the major characters had story arcs. There were bits of family drama but it got obscured by the epic in the microverse. In a way it reminded me of a king-size annual of the olden days with lots of characters and huge splash pages of fantastic vistas with an "old favorite" supervillain showing up... In that sense it felt very comic book-like, and that was enough to entertain my 8 year old self. But a feature length movie needs more depth and traditional story telling.
P. S. I was looking for easter eggs from the microverse introduced in FANTASTIC FOUR, THE INCREDIBLE HULK and MICRONAUTS comic books of the 1960's and 1970's but didn't see any. No Jarella, but lots of bug-like life forms. EDIT: I did find out that Krylar was the name of a character from K'ai in the Microverse in INCREDIBLE HULK #156 and in the comics he was of the same race of green skinned people that Jarella was. In the movie he is not green skinned.
