I read a lot of Clive Barker back in the 80s/early 90s, but then kind of drifted away. I just picked up The Scarlet Gospels, a 2015 novel. It's a sequel to the Hellbound Heart and brings in the occult detective Harry D'Amour who was a character in several other Barker stories. Anybody read it? I really don't know much about it. Just that it's a sequel to the book and doesn't consider any of the other material from the movies.

I haven't read it, but I'll check it out. I read "the Hellbound Heart" and THE GREAT AND SECRET SHOW in the 80's the latter of which had Harry D'Amour in it. Barker never really hooked me as a writer, but I did think the Lemarchand Configuration and the Cenobites were great horror concepts.

He was definitely hit or miss, and I enjoyed his short stories much more than his novels. But this has the Cenobites with all the hikes later movie stuff cut out, so I gave it a shot.

I liked the book. Had a fun noir vibe. Some possible inspiration for a D&D trip to Hell. A humorous meta thread where the cenobite knows some people refer to him as Pinhead, and he hates it.
