The trailer is awesome. I really hope they pull this off, and make the definitive cinematic version of DUNE. www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9xhJrPXop4Gene, I saw your comment on FB. Yes, the Pink Floyd song choice is a bit odd, but somehow it works, doesn't it? I'm okay with it as long as it is in the trailer only, and not in the actual movie. It needs to be at least 3 hours to do it justice. This is being directed by the same guy who did BLADE RUNNER 2049, which I liked a lot. That movie was over 2 1/2 hours long. The first DUNE book is just so freaking great, but so much of it is internal thought balloons, so it is always going to be a challenge to bring it to the big screen in a way that feels completely satisfying.

Yes, it seems like it might be enjoyable. I was force marched into watching a movie with the star Timothy Chalamet called CALL ME BY YOUR NAME (2017) by my daughter. Not a family movie for sure, a kind of gay adult and teen affair movie. He seemed alright in it so I'll give it a chance.

Alright so I finally watched it. Its good on FX but the casting was terrible. It seems like they cast a Lynchian goon squad for the emperor then swapped them into the Atreides camp to make it more PC. It almost feels like its a extremely classy production of a school play with child-like actors doing great performances by a lower standard. That said, great effects that resemble some of the old covers from the 1970's. Its very watchable but I'm not sure if it is rewatchable.
