I just watched the first episode of this and it actually wasn't bad.

Watched the 2nd episode not bad so far. Its not like DARK MIRROR because its a step towards more sci-fi while DM is a threadbare step into a future.

I watched the 3rd episode with the guy from BREAKING BAD and it really made a classic sci-fi feel with modern issues.

I'd like to check this out, as well as CASTLE ROCK, but they both seem to be on pay-per-view and lately I've become super-cheap when it comes to TV. I pay for internet and Netflix and that's it. I don't even have cable. It's like we're moving into this era of fragmented entertainment with all of these different pay-per-view options that each has one interesting flagship and then a bunch of crap.
Get the free trial, watch the one show, and then quit before the trial ends? Is that the new thing?

I cut off HBO a while back because it just doesn't seem like Carlin land anymore. I watched the first season of WESTWORLD then discontinued because all the premium movies I had already saw somewhere else.

Honestly? Having Amazon is for the shopping and Hulu is for the rerun TV shows which I had no say whatsoever.

The usual crap playing in the background is crime murder DATELINE type stuff for now but it was a long dark night of gossipy reality shows. I recall those halcyon days in the 90's when we both turned off the boob tube for a decade. It was partly out of cost and devils would surround us with "you didn't see that? Oh, you got to get cable!" then I'd rent it in compilations. I remember she was pregnant in 2001 and someone talked her into watching THE SOPRANOS and I came home and some guy's ass crack was in the living room. We used to be the people that would have a million VHS tapes and guests would watch a sophisticated movie with the floor vibrating. Not anymore!

I still have some VHS and cassette tapes, and the means to play them. I have a Phillips boom box radio from that time when they could play both CDs and cassettes. And my upstairs guest bedroom has one of those TVs with the VCR built into it. When these things finally break, I don't know what I'll do. When my niece and nephews visit, they must look at me like the curator of old museum. "Over here, you'll see some antique technology from the 20th century!"
