Elmo is an agent of the Viscount of Verbobonc. The church of St. Cuthbert building was raised by the Viscount of Verbobonc due to aid rendered by the Archclericy of Veluna against the temple forces of elemental evil.
If it becomes apparent to Elmo that humanoids, undead, fiery eye uniforms, a torture room, prisoners, and/or weapons/armor stockpiles are found at the moat house, what might be the response from the church of St. Cuthbert?
Is it possible or likely that Terjon would be released by the Archclericy of Veluna from his obligation to maintain his post at the church to accompany the PC party to the moat house?

No reward from church until its solidly the legendary temple most likely. D&D/Greyhawk is a world of random danger so its most likely geared for DIY in this module.
I might think the government might give some bounty for heads and more if they're squirming.
In my campaign from authorities involved in "security", its straight xp equals gold for alive and dead a variable but close to slightly less fraction.
To me if its "quest level" which is what the church wants here sort of. There will be support first then reward later.

I was asking due to it states only the request of the Archclericy if Veluna keeps Terjon on station at the church - he would rather be adventuring.

No. There would be no reason to allow him to go adventuring.

What's the church's or Old Faith's reaction if the party finds and bring back the 70 symbol-clad capes from the moathouse dungeon? Would the symbol mean anything that it's solidly the legendary temple, or is it instead an ambiguous symbol due to its the heretofore unseen symbol of the "new master" and not yet a symbol necessarily associated with the temple?
