I think I'd realistically be a Druid, although I guuess I could've been a Thief when I was more limber (I was a rock climber...)--I sure have busted enough of them at work and invading my home to be wise to their tricks! (cel phones have added a whole, new dimension to that gig for groups, BTW... and I still bust 'em. Amateurs...) ^__^

Its tough, I can't see myself as cleric, druid, paladin, ranger, illusionist, thief, assassin or monk so I'd go with fighter/magicuser. But I don't know if I can actually cast a spell...hmmmm...." Weig's Endless Cup of Coffee"? Now thats a spell!

That spell would be a "stimulating" discovery! ;D

As a real world atheist, it's hard to say. If I really knew there was a god and an afterlife, I might feel a whole lot more motivated to serve. As it is, I'd say ranger or magic-user.

I already deleted it. I missed the 1E qualifier in the title.

That spell would be a "stimulating" discovery! ;D The diners around here in NY city used to have signs "Endless Cup Of Coffee" but not these days. Anyway I always used to comment about the "Decanter of Endless Water" as being the "Decanter of Endless Coffee".

That would be an item in my backpack! My day doesn't start 'til I consume 2 or 3 cups. When I was in school, it was measured in pots. It's a wonder that my cardiovascular system still functions!

I chose Druid mostly because I am at heart an ecologist and friend to all animals and plants. I can still stare in wonder at the aquarium or terrarium, and some of my neighbors were stunned when a 15 pound snapping turtle was trying to cross the road leading into town and I came up behind it, lifted it and then carried it to a nearby pond. They had been trying to harry it to a ditch with brooms... I love camping and hiking too! Hopefully, my daughter will pick that up!

I've actually done the same thing. However, I must say ranger because in the back of my mind I was thinking what an easy meal the turtle would be if I desperate for food. Of course I also grew up in a relatively isolated hill town and spent most of my youth in the woods. I also picked up archery and tracking skills at a young age. Second option would be thief. As a kid I was the one that could always get onto a roof without a ladder, unlock windows with a spatula and open locks with a paperclip.

We need to compare notes! I lived in the trees! My parents hated all the times I came in with pine sap in my hair! Some of my neighbors and I had "observation posts" up in the oaks and birches around the house... all gone now, alas! And I could flip this old WWII bayonet into a target on the oaks out back with ease... that really bothered my Mom! ^__^

Cool! I actually still have that old bayonet, and I later acquired the M1 Carbine that it was meant to affix to!

I've felled so many trees I might even consider myself an anti-druid. I'm not much of a hunter, but it isn't because I don't choose to its just that theres a heavy hunter culture in my family and they've dominated the entire angle for years. Recently, they've sold off the family mountain so that angle is closed for sure but someday I'd like to get my own hunting cabin somewhere and make my own rules.... PULL! A cow gets trebucheted through the air while Gene aims his heavy crossbow...

Magic-user, without a doubt. I like the idea of being a weathered fighter or ranger, but it's a lot easier making a living with your mind than your body.

But a druid, ranger or monk would be welcome.
