I'd just like to hear where you've placed it, or where you would place it and why. Also, what have you added/would you add to make it more 'Greyhawk'.

I've placed it on the border between Principality of Ulek and the Pomarj, because it is a good match for the geography: Men and dwarves and elves, and a "lawful" realm directly to the west, but with masses of humanoids to the east in the Pomarj, as well as to the north in the Suss Forest. Chapel dedicated to St Cuthbert or Jascar, the jovial priest dedicated to some "saint of the North," the shrine of evil dedicated to Orcus or Nerull.
But, I've never really found an absolutely perfect fit for it on the Flanaess. The "Realm" as described in the module background, creates the image of a beleaguered Realm of Law, surrounded by Chaos and ready to crack inward like an egg. Where is that, in the Flanaess?

I like in the Vesve somewhere with the resurgent Iuz being the big threat. Plus the 'Realm' is a human kingdom. I'd probably make the chapel EEG or Tharizdun.

Part of me doesn't like using the EEG or Tharizdun, it's like over using the almost totally forgotten element, but the creepy weirdness just fits so good.

I put it in the eastern Vesve near the Velverdya (sp?) River...

I've used it in several places actually, after changing a few details here and there. The Flinty Hills near the Adri Forest, The Southern part of the Duchy of Urnst where it meets the Celadon Forest and both Ulek and the Wild Coast.

The Ulek/Wild Coast/anywhere close to the Pomarj seems to be a popular one. Probably the most popular. The Vesve area is common too, but less so.

In my 175 CY game, I used its inhabitants for my keep on the western verges of Ferrond, just south of Whyestil Lake. I've also happily placed it in the Wild Coast, in Verbobonc or Veluna (I forget which---it was the location from which the good countering-the-ToEE forces sallied), in the domain of Greyhawk (between GH and Dyvers, as well as between GH and Hardby), and in the Nyrond/Great Kingdom borderlands north of Innspa, within the forested Flintys.

I've always placed it near the Stark Mounds on the border between Gran March and Keoland.
One my favorite campaigns had the PC hailing from the town of Orlane (N-1 Against the Cult of the Reptile Gods). When the PCs leave their childhood home to become rich and famous that's when all the bad things happen in Orlane. By the time they are finished with KoTB they receive an urgent message from their parents/mentor/whatever begging them for help.
They return just in time to start the adventure and to find some of their parents/friends/mentors have either been killed or become cultists.
I've usually followed that up by linking Ramne to Burne in Hommlet.

For me, usually, the Chapel in the Keep is dedicated to St. Cuthbert and the Shrine in the Caves is dedicated to Elemental Evil. Not very original, but the fit is so good that I didn’t see the need to fight it.
