Who were these guys? What´s the source nearest to Gary other than the DMG? Is General Leuk-O a PC of Luke Gygax?
Thanks!

According to EGG, Lum the Mad was a name made up by Brian Blume, and not an actual character.
I'm not sure about Leuk-O.
The names Lum the Mad and Leuk-O first appear in Eldritch Wizardry. There are several names in that Artifact list that I think are homages to people in EGG's life, but aren't based on actual characters (although some of those people did play D&D at one time or another): Coat of Arnd of Tdon: Don Arndt, Leuk-O: Luke Gygax, Queen Ehlissa: Elise Gygax, Heward: EGG's cousin Hugh, etc.

Ah, thanks a lot. I knew about Heward, Gary once wrote an obituary for the real person behind that. So I can set this into some perspective, great!

Tuerny = To Ernie, per some info Gary shared at some point in response to a Q I sent him. Apparently as an object lesson for the vileness of his current PCs (Erac's Cousin, and others?).

I remember reading somewhere (that seemed trustworthy at the time) that when Luke was little Gary made up and told him a series of stories about General Leuk-o (the name a combination of Raiko from Japanese mythology (who was also the basis of the content of the stories) and Luke) and that the artifact name is an homage to that.

That seems likely. Ernie once told me a similar story. Not the same circumstances, but similar enough to indicate that such things did happen. I actually have the stories saved on an old e-mail somewhere. Ernie sent them to me to read to my kids with instructions to change the names and work my kids' names in there in a similar fashion.
