Hi guys. Anyone have this supplement? Is it worthwhile? I've seen some discussion through the years on DF, but I would be more interested in any opinions from you fellows. home.flash.net/~brenfrow/dd/dd-ac4.htmThanks.

I've never taken it off the main flow of quick reference but truthfully I haven't looked at it in years.
Those Magic Encyclopedias include everything in there but there is a lot of revision in those plus the ME books have a lot of bland, dumb and well..."flavor-breaking" items. The BOOK OF MARVELOUS MAGIC was made in a time when things were still okay for throwing things in randomly so if anything it cuts back the shit that those books would generate like world-specific (Spell jammer;Dark Sun;etc) and other unwanted style.
The BOOK OF MARVELOUS MAGIC is also notable to me as at the time it really put obscure details about the differences between the Basic-Expert-Companion-Master game and the Advanced game right out there when many didn't realize they were on a different wavelength.
All that said with the conversion references, I've never gone wrong just grabbing it and rolling out some treasure when I didn't really want to think about it but wanted to throw something novel in the mix. Try that with those ME books and chances are you were better off making an item from whole cloth for the amount of aggravation they bring (misquoted or reinterpreted classic items, etc.).

I had my first "getting screwed" on eBay trying to buy Dragon #100 (Gord). The seller didn't send the item nor respond. I was glad to have PayPal get involved and got my $ back. Soooo, I will probably buy this instead.
