OK--here's a question for consideration... why has table-gaming survived the "computer/digital era"? I personally believe that it's because (A) table-gaming allows more spontaneous actvity and (B) the comaraderie of friends gettin' together in person. There was a time when I believed computers would end this activity, but clearly that hasn't happened (look at Gen Con attendance). People still like to game in person, I reckon!

Everyone got into PC's over the promise of VR now we're seeing the intelligent end of electronic gaming subsiding back into another "no room for modification" era. MMORPGs are to blame. Shared online space is setting heavier rules for these things and the adult stand alones (that you can "lube up" yourself) are disappearing rapidly. Multiplayer optional games used to have bot switches and I haven't seen that in years. PC games are almost non-existent on the shelves compared to 5 years ago when they took up half the store. Messing around in the office with a game is suitable to me but the living room console stuff didn't last for me at all. ANd a lot of people that I know see it that way (PC games: low key; cool/ Console games: sensational; low brow). So its no wonder to me that table tops rule. Have they replaced AD&D in any suitable form? They're not even trying to get to Chainmail Day One. Anyway, being an old PC video game junkie thats the way that I see it.

The in person social interaction is probably a big part.

I'd say it's the whiskey. And the occasional steak. And the laughs.

Well, I don't need dice to play that game! Drinking & D&D is a problem sometimes... THANKFULLY, RED BULL HAS CHANGED ALL THAT!
