Sorry, if this was asked before.
I know there is a rule in 1e for hitting the head if someone doesn't were some sort of headprotection (a helmet or a helm) IIRC the chance is 1in 6, or 3 in 6 for intelligent opponents against AC10.
But is there actualy a rule whats happen if the head is hit ?

Normal hit points.

And that AC for the head changes if the PC is wearing a helm or great helm, to AC: 2 or AC: 1 respectively. So helms are good to buy!

So the only drawback if you are not wearing a helm, is the chance (1in6/ or3in6) that someone would hit you against an AC10 ? I

Yes, precisely. And don’t forget that when wearing a helmet you have only about 60 degrees of sight and no hear noise rolls until the helm is off because it is hard to hear. So when those Fighters with a -4AC and better are not wearing a helm, use that rule every chance you get! And also don’t forget about Ear Seekers when those armor plated Fighters take off their helm and put their ear to a door for a hear noise roll.
