Just got around to watching this and this is a not very politically correct story which is good. It is so much not PC that there is no "hero" as it is a mix of realism and fantasy. I don't want to ruin anything but there is a lot of good imagery.

I watched this on the oversea flight back from Europe. It was by the same director as THE VVITCH (2015) and THE LIGHTHOUSE (2019) so I knew what I was in for. I thought it was excellent, and I kept thinking of the recurring theme of period movies where you get to see the supernatural from the POV of the people that lived at that time. In that respect, these movies do a great job conveying that feeling, which is unsettling but distinctive. It gives me hope that quality movies can still be made in this modern era of TikTok, Instagram and short attention spans.
