The noisesome den of the ghouls holds seven vials of holy water, a scroll of protection from undead, and a potion of undead control.
Were these items pilfered from Lareth's supplies, because the ghouls resent Lareth's recent intrusion into their lair?
Or are these items from past adventurers that never returned who were seeking out wealth in remote lairs and caches in the area?

Maybe Turuko was a surviving member of the adventuring party that ran afoul of the ghouls, which would explain why he knows monsters and treasures are at the moathouse, but would rather either waylay and rob adventurers returning from a successful expedition to the ruined moat house, or else the pair {he and Kobort} will accompany a small party, hang back in fights, and then slay the expedition when it is weak.

The human skull and bones remains at the giant crayfish lair, along with the magic-user spells scroll, sword, coins, and platinum pin with ruby, could be from a fallen member of a previous adventuring party either Turuko accompanied or was stalking? Also, the remains and treasure in the collapsed tower, and the treasure therein could be from other fallen adventurer(s), victims of the huge spider, in this party? Other possibilities include that an adventurer was swallowed whole by the giant frog with a gem in its gut, an adventurer was swallowed whole by the giant lizard with the +1 shield in its gut, the gold ring was dropped by a fleeing Turuko or other adventurer on the stairs leading down to the dungeon level, perhaps other items were also from adventurers' goods/discovered loot - jeweled dagger, small cloak of elvenkind, very fine broadsword, some of the brigands loot held in the chest in the black chamber, etc.? Is it possible to speculate what the size and character class/racial make-up of this fallen party would have been? Did any survive other than Turuko? Or are they all just eaten alive, skeletal remains, turned into ghouls, and/or animated by Lareth as zombies?

Is it possible that the platinum pin set with a ruby, that is found under the skull in the giant crayfish pool {VOH moathouse dungeon location #13} is an early version of the City of Erelhei-Cinlu Drow House of Godeep's platinum crossbow device? Have any of you altered this treasure to match this Drow noble house device?

Could be an indirect association with the pin.
The cleric treasure might have been from a cocky "don't worry I'll turn them" player as a tribute. And as all roads lead to Castle Greyhawk I'd say its a reference from play there.
