Yeah, there was a thing in Entertainment magazine saying Jackson and New Line had made peace with each other... I think it was inevitable: their relationship is very symbiotic! ^__^

My oldest will be nine by then. She just turned 2 when she saw RETURN OF THE KING in the theater. Well, the young one will be almost as old as the oldest is now so I can actually manage taking the whole family this time around. Geez, can you imagine if those movies came out back when I was a teenager? It woud've starred Christopher Lambert as "Stri-Gorn" with the Time Bandit cast appearing briefly as the Hobbits, Gandalf sketchily portrayed by George Kennedy ("Ya, yeh, can't pass here, Balrog. Yuh, yeh just can't!") and Sauron being played by Boy George in four tons of prosthetics trying to be tough. Too close to the truth!

I liked the LoTRs movies. And that's basically because of what I almost always do when good books are made into movies and that is - I separate them in my mind and try not to compare them too much. I just don't expect a movie to follow a book exactly ~ it's just too hard to do and in some cases might make for a slow moving or boring movie. The Hobbit really has some potential to be a fabulous movie so I can only hope they don't screw it up. And Jackson as exec. Hmm, I know he can hand pick a director, but since he's the creative filmmaker type, I wonder why he's not directing.
