I'm thinking about starting my own site and I need a little advice from those of you who know how to do this. First, since I don't have much money, what is a good free service that I can use? I'm looking for one that will let me put up just about anything without too much restriction. Also, what steps do I need to take?
Thanks in advance!

The best option for a small size personal web site is to find an ISP the provides you with space to do just that. It's free and you don't have to worry about pop ups and such. The last time I had a web site was when I used Earthlink. Each name on the acount got 10 meg of space to build a home page. I was the only one using the account, so I ended up with 50 or 70 meg to work with. Then I switched to MSN for some promo, and I was stuck in a contract. That just ended though, so I looking for a new ISP, and when I pick one I'll probably put my site back up. Most places that offer space for sites have site builders to help you, but I'm pretty familiar with HTML, and a few others, and I just built my last site from scratch. You can use Yahoo's free web site service. I don't know how much space they give you, but you can always just register more than once and link the sites. Scott
