In response to another comment about Greyhawk names I just thought I'd start a thread to drop idea here.
Whats "TIL"?
That seems to be a theme that runs throughout.

Heres the instances of this extremely relvant Greyhawk-ism:
Tilvanot Peninsula Tilva Strait Pontylver Capital city of Medegia Yatil Mountains Whyestil Lake Ogon Tillit the Theocrat Deepstil River (a tributary of the Dulsi River which is an inlet of Whyestil Lake.) Sotillion (Lesser Oeridian now common God of Summer, South Wind, Ease, Comfort)
I left out "Otiluke" because this might be the source (Otis = Luke).
"Ustilagor" is a monster with the "til".
Some words that pop out at me are "percentile" a very common word in AD&D, and "artillery" is also not only in AD&D but lends itself to military games. (Note "military" has it in there backwards.)
Reptile is another but seems doubtful.

I would guess it was subconscious, and not intentional. I catch myself doing that with certain syllables. It would be interesting to find out I was wrong though.

I chopped off the beginning of my last post (OOPS),
I included "Thillrony" or rather "Thillrond" an unknown area or lost kingdom of the "Thillronian Peninsula".
This might be the associate/friend on the "Great Kingdom" map who is the source of all this "Til" reference.

Does anyone know who the 46 members of the original Castle & Crusades Society were?

Yes, Paul Stormberg does, as do other folks with a Domesday Book that includes a membership listing (I don't have a DB, alas). I'm pretty sure folks who know info includes at least (in addition to Paul): Jon Peterson, Frank Mentzer, Rob Kuntz, John Bobeck, Bill Meinhardt, Doug Rhea, and Matt Koder (all of whom own DBs or were members of the original C&CS).

A further note is that VELVERDYVA means Veluna- Furyondy - Dyvers and Verbobonc means Furyondy's Bobonc:
Furyondy= Ferrond=Verrond

If we find that Bill Hoyer was a farmer or from farmers that would clinch it!

Thats a good one Tom Keogh is the obvious Keoland and also Keoghtom of the ointment.
But what of Mr Kaye? He doesn't appear in the list of C&C. We all know his character was Merlin changed to Murlynd but where is his land?
Or perhaps he is in every land as "OND"?

I just got a good one what if "TILL" is a wordplay on Ernie Gygax?
ERNEST GARRISON GYGAX JUNIOR or ERNEST GARY GYGAX JUNIOR or ERNEST GARY GYGAX II or LITTLE ERNIE or LITTLE GARY or ERNIE THE WELL KNOWN BARBARIAN or TENSER or SERTEN or POZTIF or ERAC
"LITTLE" and "II" = LIT TIL and "LL"
THILLRONIAN PENINSULA = BARBARIAN KINGDOMS
Could be.
