Has anybody ever ran an adventure set in the City of the Gods? The DA3 version, like the whole DA series, is pretty lame. Most of the material in the module doesn't even cover the City. Instead it's devoted to explaining and handling the clunky DA series plot line. There was a D20 version which I've never seen. The pdf is available on RPGNow.com for only five bucks, and I'm thinking about picking it up.

nope, have never used it either. As you say, the entire series seems a bit odd I have considered using temple of the frog, but only for the basic story and maps etc. I dislike introducing "aliens" and space tech into my campaign. My former DM used "The spindle" (I think), but thankfully that was a one timer. I believe that he used city of the gods, for his prior campaign, but he modified it greatly. I don't think it is worth the five bucks ;D

I'd like to run a stint through the Blackmoor region of Greyhawk, and use both Temple of the Frog and the City of the Gods. I've mashed the TotF from the Blackmoor Supplement and the DA version. I'll probably drop the 5 on CotG too. I'll post some comments.

I enjoyed Rob's Robilar Remembers City of the Gods story. I'm just wondering how a balrog fits into the DA version.

I ran at least part of CotG once using DA3 as the basis, but I don't remember much about it, really: couldn't have been very good to not leave any impression at all....
I do own Harley Stroh's 3.x version, and Harley's a good writer/designer, but I haven't read it yet.

I have the whole DA series but have not looked them over in years.
I do remember being impressed with "The Comeback Inn" and "The Temple Of The Frog" much more than "City Of The Gods and "Well Of Souls" even though I really like the concept of CotG.
Cheers!
