I'm trying to think of the last video game I played that didn't have some zombie variation in it.
Lord of the Rings Online technically has wights not zombies, but the bloated corpse-wights are very zombie-like. They're mindless undead attackers.
StarCraft 1 and 2 have the Terrans infested by the Zerg, which are essentially zombie-like suicide bombers.
Half-Life 1 and 2 had the "alien facehugger inspired" headcrab zombies.
I guess it must have been one of the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic games... Wait, I just remembered the rakghouls!
Wow, that probably takes me all the way back to Homeworld, which was all tactical deep space combat. What a great game that was, with the ship designs based on the sf paintings in the Terran Trade Authority books I had as a kid.

It's been years since I played a game, other than helping my kids get past something. I bought Skyrim, but lent it to my nephew and never got it back. I was curious about the Aliens space marines game, but havn't heard anything about it yet.

Lord of the Rings Online technically has wights not zombies, but the bloated corpse-wights are very zombie-like. They're mindless undead attackers. I think in BATTLE FOR MIDDLE EARTH I & II they were ghostly apparitions. StarCraft 1 and 2 have the Terrans infested by the Zerg, which are essentially zombie-like suicide bombers. I remember the first one. The girl became some kind of integrated undead or was that the add-on? Half-Life 1 and 2 had the "alien facehugger inspired" headcrab zombies. Whatever happened to that series? I was addicted to that shit. I guess it must have been one of the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic games... Wait, I just remembered the rakghouls! I swear I just mentioned that series. The only thing I didn't like was that BIOWARE used that 2E D&D feel of that kind of seemed like a zoomed in BALDUR'S GATE feel giving them that lazy DM feel. Wow, that probably takes me all the way back to Homeworld, which was all tactical deep space combat. What a great game that was, with the ship designs based on the sf paintings in the Terran Trade Authority books I had as a kid. I played it through but its a blur! Ever since just prior to STARCRAFT II I've been off PC games after being so enmeshed in it. I think shit like STEAM and MMO put an end to the "heres my old game" culture for sure. Of course, factor in the age old tradition of younger members of the family reselling lended games for cash as well! My old PC games collection is a nightmare. I still haven't played past the moathouse entrance in TEMPLE OF ELEMENTAL EVIL pc game (Last time that I tried to install it was a disaster). On an aside, all my STAR WARS game titles are so stale since the prequels came out. It like the two extrapolations (the EXPANDED UNIVERSE [novels, comics, etc] and the PREQUEL UNIVERSE [comics, novels, cartoons, etc]) conflicts "My STAR WARS" [original trilogy, pre Zahn novels, comics, TV specials, etc] have killed the video game feel of lets say the first DARK FORCES game. A while back, I started playing some FACEBOOK game because I interrupted my friend playing it and he explained how interactive it was. It was about an army base in the future and you have to slow build (typical RTS) and then team up with your friends. I was not aware he was already embedded with longtime players and that would involve him starting from scratch. OUCH! What a mistake. Is there any PC game sout there worth trying? Was STARCRAFT II any good or was it as bad as WARCRAFT III?

I have 2 girls so they usually go for cartoony games. I was curious about the Aliens space marines game, but havn't heard anything about it yet. I still haven't finished the last PLAYSTATION 3 ALIEN/PREDATOR game. Plus I have that DARKSIDERS II with the giant Scottish dwarves that I can't seem to make time for!

Oops what I meant by "lazy DM feel" was taking something straight up and dumping it in. Like using something familiar to everyone and repurpose it because you couldn't think of anything for the game session.

I remember the first one. The girl became some kind of integrated undead or was that the add-on? Kerrigan was the "Ghost" (psionic special ops) betrayed and left behind in a battle the first StarCraft and in the first add-on it was revealed she was captured by the Zerg and infested and became the super-psionic "Queen of Blades" a sort of Terran/Zerg hybrid. But what I was referring to actually was the infested Terran unit. In the original game a Zerg Queen can infest a heavily damaged Terran structure and use it to produce units that only live for a few seconds before exploding. They say: "Live for the Swarm!" Whatever happened to that series? I was addicted to that shit.? Half-Life 1 and 2 and their expansions are all there is to the series, unless you count third party mods. I'm not sure why they haven't done a 3 yet. Probably because they set the bar so high and don't want to produce something inferior. The beginning of Half-Life 1 is probably my favorite starting sequence to any video game ever, because it was so immersive and creepy, with the flickering lights and loose wires sparking on the floor... The problem is once it is a "series" you can't really recapture that feeling again. I swear I just mentioned that series. The only thing I didn't like was that BIOWARE used that 2E D&D feel of that kind of seemed like a zoomed in BALDUR'S GATE feel giving them that lazy DM feel. I think the Knights of the Old Republic were pretty good games. They got a lot right. They got the visuals, sound effects, music and the right overall feel of a Star Wars movie. Darth Malak is what Darth Vader should have looked like in the Star Wars prequels -- a big muscular guy, even when he was still a Jedi. But they did use a level advancement system that felt a lot more like 3e D&D than Star Wars. Is there any PC game sout there worth trying? Was STARCRAFT II any good or was it as bad as WARCRAFT III? I bought StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty (the first release) and I liked the single player campaign. It definitely pays attention to the original and stays true to it, and continues the story. The music, sound and cutscenes are excellent. But while the units and graphics look better, I don't think this game has quite the same balance or replayability as the original. But overall it is good and worth buying. I haven't played Heart of the Swarm yet.

Big spoiler follows. Sunday's mid season finale ended by revealing that Carl had been bitten, so his end is nigh. The scene wasn't edited very well, and it took me a while to piece everything together. Apparently he got bit two episodes ago when he went into the woods to get Siddiq. He already knew he was a goner when he offered to let Negan kill him. It's a big death, and a major departure from the comics. I'm curious to see how he goes, philosophizing and monologuing or guns blazing? A little of both? Two months to toss it around.

Yeah, thats pretty depressing. the show is like a ball of anxiety every Sunday night so its kind of good when its over. Negan is probably the best character because he's terribly wrong but they present how his absorbing appeal works. And all of the contradiction is accepted in your mind as making sense and it works on screen which is bizarre.

Its weird how the whole ball of wax of this show has transmogrified. I find it hard to relate after this last episode. Who the hell is writing this?

I have fallen behind a whole season with both TWD and FTWD. I watched an episode of FTWD last night with my Dad, and now Morgan is in that show, but I still found it to be kind of a slog to get through. I feel like a zombie watching these shows anymore. "Must... watch... episodes..." In the earlier seasons, I liked the way they explored the themes of how humans would be the worst enemies in this world, and how this world would drive you crazy. But it now it feels like recycle mode, and I'm tired of characters being stupid.

You put a pin on it. We're howling the whole season about stupid moves.
