Well, I went there saw nothing but followed over to the Troll blog. It looks like its officially over.
But I read some more and they said Gaxmoor is getting a redo.
Thank fucking God!

Saw your post, Gene and Finnarvyn's regarding running CZ UW under C&C. I've been thinking of running it under OD&D w/Greyhawk. Just curious what you guys think about running CZ UW under AD&D rules?

I think it's ideal.

Yeah, thats what I would say or the 3 book set (with or without the supplements) if you really want to get down to brass tacks feel. Technically, you could use CHAINMAIL even if you wanted to do a siege like they did with the moathouse.

I went there as soon as I got home from work! ^__^ I'll run CZ in 1EAD&D, but as Scotty pointed out, OD&D has a certain appeal too...

Things have quieted down quite a bit over at GGs. All that legal BS discussion bored everyone to death!! ;D

I just got bored over the attitude that I hear on most forums (present forum excluded). Its always the same. I can't lower my standards just because I want to have a discussion on the internet, D&D forums seem to be whoever shows up and follows guidelines can win any argument if they represent a big company's ideas. Its always the same. Some sites try to hedge them out so they reapproach in an undermining way like having all those post fests with their "hedged fetish porn"/"bubble girl anime" avatars over and over again... GGAAAAAHHHHH!!!! Seriously, there doesn't seem to be any solid consensus of old D&D sites out there. For most its either your here, there or mostly nowhere. There should an annual online con of real old D&D fans and absolutely no phonies. Set it up like different "booths" to all the various subfora of different forums and it lined up on a webpage "map". Then have various "seminar" files to read and "Q&A" areas. And no "beer" seminars by GT!

That's OK... I can surreptitiously serve imports while lecturing on the "Curious History of the Elder Elemental God"! ^__^

It's not really a site/forum in the way Scott's board or DF are, but it seems pretty solidly old school to me (as are some of the other blogs James links to). I was implying an on-line virtual con so that everybody will be at the same place at the same time and everything can be arranged for exclusive time at home for live chats, etc. then have it all laid out with various web forums having "booths" in the form of subforums or chats on their sites but are direct linked to a webpage which is the "main hall" of the con. Well, something like that to unite all the retards (myself included) who can't face each other anymore... ...perhaps even make a united front against "the enemy". Which I forgot who "the enemy" is currently but don't you see? An online con would answer questions like that?

Well, some of it doesn't sit too well with me, especially this part:
Industry leaders? Team of experts? My expectations have now sunk further.

I just checked with a different browser and it magically appeared.
Well, I don't know what to say except to echo the same expectations and reiterate my own suspicions that it might be the big GREYHAWK RUINS flush all over again.

There's really nothing to say over on the Gail Gygax Games board other than speculation and to pose questions which will not be answered till the stars are all aligned.
On the boards of game companies that I have frequented in the past, the owners/managers might not always have posted specifics of their plans, but at least you knew what they believed in.
Well, I guess we can read this Christmas Greeting and you're right, Scott--that quote sends shivers down my spine (in a horrified sense, not an exhilarated sense).

Speaking of Greyhawk Ruins, I was paging through it recently. It really is bad. It's like the authors had no clue about designing dungeons at all. Every so often I pick it up, and then get disgusted and throw it back on the shelf. I will use the maps, and I've kept some of the encounters, but overall, it's so bad. The plots, the lame encounters, etc. It's like the encounters my cousin and nephews would write when they were 9 years old: 20 aboleths guarding a chest of silver bars. I should just burn it.
