I'm just back from a few days 'work' in Italy (an excuse to be excessively wined and dined by a client), and texted my mate who's at CERN while I was there. He said the first couple of days went just as expected... ...and that he was now in the predominantly Italian-flavoured part of Switzerland himself, some miles away from CERN. Was he purposely distancing himself from the area? Experiencing time travel? I shall have to investigate further. From a suitable distance, of course.

You know now that I think about there was quite a few "sci-fi looking" industrial complexes when I was staring out the tour bus window on a night ride through the Alps from Germany to Italy about 10 years ago. I wonder if one of them was CERN? The funny thing is though we went back assumingly the same way during the day a week and a half later and I don't recall anything but "cuckoo clock houses" with no roads going to them on mountaintops. All on the Western side? Anyway, Switzerland has some of the most beautiful country views that I've ever seen in my life and thats just from the highway. Those motherfuckers had better not blow it up before I can get back there....
