One of my favorite areas written for a module. Has anybody ever expanded on this? I planned on developing it into am abondoned demi-plan created by Iggwilv, but the party retreated after one tough/creepy encounter and never returned. Now that Iggwilv has been rescued from the Abyss, I might work on making it an inhabited lair. The party was actually trapped in the pentacles for months, real time. We had rolled up new characters and started a new campaign, but occasionally one of the players would bring it up and try something new. Eventually they escaped. Six out of the eight PCs died soon after though in the Forgotten Temple of Tharizdun. The other two decided to head back to civilization while the rest went to Gnomevale. Scott

I've got several levels that I've worked up as alternate lairs, dwellings, bolt holes, etc. for Iggwilv, though none are really more than a few pages of notes and the odd map. These include: additional dungeon levels in the Lost Caverns, levels in the nearby Iggwilv's Horn mountain, a complex in the Hellfurnaces (based on the original tourney's background and placement of the Lost Caverns), the Hall of Pentacles, a complex for one of her apprentices (whom I toyed with making Xaene, though I eventually dropped that idea), and the lair on Luna from Return of the Eight. I haven't found these notes among my stuff most recently, however, and I fear that they may have disappeared along with all of my 1987-89 letters to/from Rob

I always assumed the caverns WERE under Iggwilv's Horn.
Maybe that was just a careless reading on my part. Ah, well. Regards.

That was always my asumption as well, Falconer. Scott

I don't have the module here, so I can't double-check, but according to what I've quoted for the Hermit's information: I've always interpreted that the Lost Caverns are in a different location from Iggwilv's Horn. Perhaps this is just another instance of me misreading stuff---it's been known to happen

I have also interpreted the verse as indicating that there were several places relevant to Iggwilv. Of course, the verse could only point to Iggwilv's horn as a "known" landmark for easy reference.
"Seek ye the President's hidden lair, trek five leages south of Mount Rushmore!"
