It was good to see you, Allan, and finally get into one of your Greyhawk games! I should be able to finish my write ups over the weekend, as well.

Wow, pretty cool... Except for the Greenwood part... Just kidding! Did you look up all the addresses? I briefly had walked around with Rob pointing out bushes and shit but no houses or anything. I should have recorded Gary's bus tour without him knowing it but I was too honorable. Dammit! I remember some houses which were probably the Hobby shops and his house. Then the big TSR location. Also the pizzeria but I'm not sure if they upgraded that since 2007 or it was a different pizzeria. At the time, mentally, I was on that feeling that I was one step closer to lost content... Yeah, yeah, yeah... There's ya ol' house, interesting... Yeah, yeah, yeah... Come on, come on... Just tell us the spell themes for the lost character classes for Christ's sake, ahhhh?? Will ya?? I'm dying here...

Whether or not you are a fan of Ed Greenwood's creative work (and it's fine if you aren't) he is very warm and engaging in person. I was glad to meet him since he's been a major contributor from very early on and I enjoyed many of his DRAGON articles even if I didn't play in FORGOTTEN REALMS or read his novels. Interestingly, he is a fan of the World of Greyhawk and has been a player in Greyhawk campaigns! I did look up all of the addresses, and I've been collecting them for many years now from various sources and storing them on my Google Maps account. I've been wanting to do this walking tour for a long time. I'll edit in the addresses when I get the time. The one that I missed but walked past and saw was "Gail Gygax Galleries" which was EGG's final home on 316 Madison Street. D'oh! I think I know the pizzeria everyone mentions -- Next Door Pub & Pizzeria -- but I didn't go there or get a picture of it. Another TSR hangout I did walk past and snapped a photo of was Su Wings Chinese Restaurant, only two blocks south of the Dungeon Hobby Shop Museum.

They have a special fortune cookie called the Zeb Cook-ie where the fortune says "Oriental Adventures was not by Gary Gygax and you were ripped off but hey I got paid"...

Hah, that's pretty funny and true... I wonder how many people felt an obligation to try out OA since it was an official AD&D rulebook and it has Gary Gygax's name on the cover? I remember at the time my DM Eric had at least a tangential interest in Oriental fantasy and some of it made it into our Western style medieval setting in the form of occasional encounters with ninjas, monks or Oriental dragons... My own monk got the "Heart of the Dragon" ripped off from IRON FIST including a glowing fist that could hit as a magical weapon! Eric himself had a ninja player character named 'Spyder' but that was the ninja class from DRAGON Magazine.

I had a wandering Dragon mag samurai NPC prior to OA who I "updated". He fizzled fast with those rules.
