Re publishing, for the first book it was easy enough because it was all text - no illustrations or maps - do I just converted the Google doc into a pdf, used Lulu’s free tool to create a cover, and then uploaded those to DriveThruRPG as well.
For the current book it’s going to be trickier, both because I have at least a bunch of maps (~20) and with any luck some illustrations too. I got a verbal commitment from an artist friend ~8 months ago to redraw my maps to look professional quality but I haven’t seen anything from him on they so I don’t know if he’s still interested or not. Not sure about the illustrations either - I don’t want to use generic stock art but can’t afford to commission original work (and don’t have the talent to draw my own). The cover will also be a challenge because my Lulu account got deleted (when someone “helpfully” pointed out to them that I had a copyright-violating work in my catalog, even though it was only accessible via private link) so I can’t rely on that tool and will have to find something else which will hopefully still be as easy to use. But all of that’s still a bit in the future, as I’m still (still!) trying to wrap up the writing.

Only the first would be a freebie. After that I would have to pull some creative obfuscation myself if I decide to keep using Greyhawk.

For some insight into why writing/publishing is lagged for me, "Broken Castle" is a branch away from the authentic ye olde campaign. The other projects which are cramped with maintaining my own nostalgia and authenticity for them are having a hard time. If you saw the notes for Dungeons of Skulldon for example, you would lose your mind trying to figure out just how its all connected in this form. Not only is it the authentic 80's campaign its the home of Broken Castle so its a nightmare to manage. I have to take out all the "meta-attics" and "sub-basements" of later years which frankly are part of the table charm but are no way going to fit unless its added way later.

Ha, I am having flashbacks to all the times EGG made comments about converting his home adventures into something he thought could be published.

The game play has a net negative effect if it has been played as a returning location multiple times.
