Has anyone played this game? You play Amanda Ripley, Ellen Ripley's daughter in the time set between ALIEN and ALIENS. I found that to be slightly annoying as not everything in the franchise should have to tie back to Ellen Ripley. But getting over that, the gameplay, atmosphere, tension, hardware and sound effects are all spot on and feel very close to the first ALIEN movie.

I think the last one that I played was the 1999 ALIEN VERSUS PREDATOR where you could play an alien, a predator and a marine in 3 separate campaigns. I had the second one from 2001 but it wasn't that great. I recall the 1999 one had a Nostromo level.

I've heard good things about Alien: Isolation, but I don't really play computer games much. My sons have been considering picking it up, though, so please let us know what you think if you do play it, Gary!

I've been watching the walkthrough video which is 8+ hours long, as well as the digital series. The walkthrough video is IMO better than the digital series which somewhat botches the later added animation. Honestly, I like to play video games less and less as I get older. I just don't have patience for the learning curves anymore. But I do love watching the cutscenes and admiring the storylines and other aesthetic aspects of video games as they are often better than movies! So far, I'd say ALIEN: ISOLATION is ranking up there as one of the best things in the franchise since the original ALIEN and ALIENS movies.
