Does anybody have any stats for Curly? I used to know a bit, but now I can't remember anything other than druid/ranger. Scott

Curley Greenleaf Level: 10/8 (after Saga of Old City), Class: Druid/Ranger; Proficiencies: Weapon: spear, staff-spear. He is rotund, bald, broad shouldered, half-elfin, and 5'11" tall. He is twenty years older than Gord. His druidical school was the Oaken Concatenation. His animal forms include a hawk, a turtle, and a pelican. Equipment: He has a gold chain and medallion of a sun with the Tree of Life, on which he paints in green leaves as an indicator of his current level; he has Keoghtom's ointment, wields a spear, and has a black felt belt pouch with a lodestone that he has cast light on. By Come Endless Darkness he has a staff-spear and his staff can cast a (Chain?) lightning bolt. By Artifact of Evil he has gathered three apprentices. While on the quest for the Theorpart, he is obliged to report to the Hierophants occasionally. After the trip to the Catlord's realm, he plans to leave word in Chendel. He becomes an archdruid to the Grand Druid. He arrived with Gellor and Chert at Safeton five days after Barrel. He dies in Gravestone's Headquarters. Spells: include several additional curative spells. First Level: Pass Without Trace, Light, Remove Fear Second Level: Cure Light Wounds, Fire Trap Third Level: Snare, Cure Disease Fifth Level: Wall of Fire, Insect Plague, Sticks to Snakes, Anti-Plant Shell 10' Radius, Transmute Mud to Rock, Control Winds Sixth Level: Animal Summoning III, Fire Seeds, Live Oak, Conjure Fire Elemental, Obscure Path, Find the Path Seventh Level: Chariot of Sustarre, Changestaff This info was found there : home.comcast.net/~chris.s/flanpc.html

Gary has lost the character sheet for his original PC of that name, who was a Gnome Illusionist/Thief. The character in the books is a Half-Elf Druid/Ranger. The three Aspirants that follow him in Artifact of Evil are clearly due to his reaching 12th level as a Druid. Regards.

Are you sure he was a gnome illusionist thief? I used to think that too, and I thought EGG told me that, but the last time I talked to him about it, he said he was as the character from the novels. So maybe I was mixing up Curly Greenleaf and Louhi Sharpnose. Scott

I, too, had heard about the gnome of that name--but I didn't really start "talking shop" with Gary til after the Gord novels started so I am with Scott on maybe confusing another character in there! The Pun Demon

You're right, I misread the following phrase in an interview on the web: So clearly the gnome and Curley Greenleaf are separate characters. I may have confused it with Gleed and Keak, who are pregens from the G-D series and also Obmi's henchmen in the Gord novels. In the modules, Keak is a Gnome Fighter/Thief and Gleed is a Human Magic-User. In Artifact of Evil, Keak is an Elf Fighter/Magic-User and Gleed is a Gnome Illusionist/Thief. Regards.

Is it interesting to align the Keak and of the GDQ series with the ones of the Gord novels?
If yes, how would you do it?

Is it possible that Curley Greenleaf is Greenleaf = feuillevert? An allusion that he is a Huguenot?

Is it possible that Curley Greenleaf is Greenleaf = feuillevert? An allusion that he is a Huguenot? I just picked up my old set of books and was thinking of Curley Greenleaf. I figured he was named for two kinds of parsley: the curly leaf kind and the Italian, flat-leaf kind. Was the Huguenot reference derived from John Greenleaf Whittier's bio?

According to EGG he was named after lettuce. Just a couple cases down at your grocer's produce section.

I always assumed he was named after the Three Stooges character, since he's bald.
