I got myself Disney+ for Christmas. I’ve watched the first few episodes of the Mandalorian and while watching it realized I’ve been waiting for this since 1983. It is not Boba Fett but everything I wanted out of a bounty hunter series set in the Star Wars universe.
Also, I'm looking forward to WANDAVISION in January. The Vision was another one of my childhood favorites. I'm glad to see him coming back even it is only in the warped reality created by the Scarlet Witch which I'm sure Doctor Strange will have to put an end to, eventually.

I fought hard not to be tempted to watch the third installment of Abrams' Star Wars movie and the "Chef" TV show The Mandalorian because:
A - I didn't want kids piling me up with merch anymore based on suppositions that "its all good" and then I have to correlate the gift with the content.
B - PC nausea has entered my viewing of anything mainstream.
C - Post-tossing 99.9999% of all my SW antiques in the trash to make it quick and not let the sticky fingered clinging continue was hard as hell.
D - I need to look at it with fresh eyes and distance myself from the guy up the street with 40 giant Christmas Star Wars decorations on his lawn and people that I know who think old SW was only as good as its offshoots reflect on it.
Now that I sufficiently gained a tougher "hide", adding in that after pouring through endless antique stores down here in Orlando realizing that SW merch can be easily scored in tattered conditions making my actions not seem so rash, I'm probably going to review the Favreau show.
Is the final Abrams' movie included in Disney Plus?

THE RISE OF SKYWALKER is included on Disney+ but I have no desire to watch it. The sequel trilogy is a train wreck with no planning and THE LAST JEDI confirmed it as being even worse than the prequel trilogy. If you don't start out with a good script and clear vision of where it is all going, why bother? THE MANDALORIAN is in a completely different category, and I'd place it in with THE CLONE WARS and REBELS animated series and maybe with ROGUE ONE as being produced by fans who genuinely get the original trilogy or at least like the same things about it that I do.
You don't have to be all or nothing when it comes to STAR WARS. The people with the attitude of "it's all good" can't be said to be fans since they're not passionate about it and therefore not discerning. THE MANDALORIAN ends that stupid argument using the false dichotomy that any new STAR WARS must either be be nostalgically stale (Abrams) or subversively original (Johnson).

I loved the almost blatantly ripped off western and samurai vibe from the beginning. The story, characters, writing have all been enjoyable from the beginning. From episode 12 "The Siege" to the end of season 2 is just the most amazing Star Wars content since Empire Strikes Back.

I just finished the first season. I loved it, but some episodes weren't as good as the others. The first three episodes were tight and felt like a movie. Pedro Pascal impressed me by pulling off a main character wearing a helmet, and conveying so much emotion just with voice and body language. I loved the Ugnaught as well, voiced by Nick Nolte and animated with a combination of an actress and puppeteering. Episodes 4, 5, and 6 were a bit formulaic like you would get in a TV series. I wasn't really buying the Cara Dune character with her cheesy "Xena Warrior Princess" vibe (I'm referring to the writing not the actress). On the other hand, I loved the Mandalorian Smith as a strong female character. The conclusion connected all of the dots, but felt a bit clumsy and the pacing was off. The STAR WARS Easter Eggs were everywhere without being overbearing, and although the music wasn't traditional for STAR WARS, it was appropriate for a lone gunslinger/Western theme.

Since I took off work this week, and I'm stuck at home, I'm blasting through this series like an X-Wing in a Death Star trench. I just watched "The Siege" last night and it was nostalgic in all of the right ways, not imitating Episode IV yet very reminiscent of it. It is a delicate balance to pull off but they did it! Sometimes it feels a bit video-gamey... Like the Lucasarts games of the 90's and early 00's. My complaints are very minor as this is solid STAR WARS and what I was hoping for when Disney took over.

Just haven't had a chance, just too freaking busy driving all the time, but I've made a commitment to give it a chance so maybe soon.

I finished the second season of THE MANDALORIAN on New Year's Day. I wouldn't call the series perfect, as there are filler episodes and uneven writing and acting in some episodes, but the Season 2 finale knocked it out of the park. I don't want say anything else and spoil it. It is best to avoid any Star Wars memes on social media until watching it for yourself. Just when I had given up hope, it looks like a Star Wars Renaissance may be finally happening.

I've watched 5 episodes of season one. I have to agree that its good. Its good enough to be an apology. PS I also watched CINDERELLA (1950) haven't seen that in a long time. Unchained emotions (Telling someone that they could be finally have happiness from misery and harshly denying it) and anthropomorphizing vermin (Dressing mice in clothes) are the components of the fairy godmother spell...

Finished THE MANDOLORIAN Season One. Its pretty good and it talks the talk and walks the walk supplies shit for all of us. Aliens are great especially Clancy Brown (As "cantina" devil) and Nick Nolte (as dwarf voiceover for ugnaught?). I liked "Gus" from BREAKING BAD as a more ruthless than Cushing "Moff". Liked the tip of the hat to 70's toy play with cameos from "DROID FACTORY" (Humanoid R2) and "IMPERIAL TROOP TRANSPORT". I liked the cutting room floor McQuarrie insect droid brought to life. I forgot who he is supposed to have been the design for but I immediately knew the image. I also like the brief tribute to "TROOPERS" (The 1990's COPS spoof).

Yeah, they cram tons of references and Easter eggs in there, and somehow don't make it feel forced.
