I saw this yesterday and it was a definite call back to the monster movies I watched as a kid back in the 70's... especially GHIDORAH THE THREE-HEADED MONSTER (1964), INVASION OF THE ASTRO MONSTER or as I remember it titled MONSTER ZERO (1965) and DESTROY ALL MONSTERS (1968). I have a great fondness for those movies, and this new movie is basically a love letter to them. It is worth seeing for the CGI versions of Godzilla, Mothra, Rodan and King Ghidorah -- whom they actually refer to as "Monster Zero"! What I loved was how much they kept the same: the way the monsters looked, Godzilla's roar, and even (spoiler) that Monster Zero is from outer space. What I didn't like was the paint-by-numbers human story and all of the cringeworthy explanations and motivations of the characters.

This was one I really wanted to see, but since it was released I had two road trip soccer tournaments and my father-in-law passed away. So I haven’t done much lately.

Heh, I barely get to go. I don't know how the hell I'm going to Spiderman.
There is a lot of allusions in this movie to various Godzilla things it might be too many.
I don't even want to discuss because there is a lot of stuff.
