Saw on Fridsy but very distracted extended weekend. Basically, I can't say anything until everyone has seen it. I liked and my daughter loved it. Lots of Marvel and they played down other things to the point of not going there yet and/or keeping it simple. Expect an ANT-MAN approach and a féel good feminine angle which was not a problem for me.

I loved Captain Marvel and was great enjoying a boatload of ‘90’s nostalgia all the way through this film!

I'm watching this now and it is a fun movie. I keep thinking "MARVEL TEAM-UP: MS. MARVEL and NICK FURY, AGENT OF SHIELD." I thought for sure that Jude Law was Mar-Vell but I was wrong. I like the way the Kree and the Skrulls were handled, and the Ronan cameo was pretty cool. It made me recall the Skrulls from the early days of the Fantastic Four, the "Kree-Skrull War" in the Avengers, how Ms. Marvel became an Avenger in the late 70's and how "The Death of Captain Marvel" by Jim Starlin was a pretty big deal and one of the few comic book deaths that has not been reversed.
I liked how they played with audience expectations, including those of long-time comic book readers like myself. Somehow, they put twists on things so I didn't know where it was going -- while at the same time drawing a lot from the source material. That is not an easy balance to strike, but they did it.
