The "oddly peaked and gabled roof that puts your teeth on edge" is frying my brain.
Does that mean its odd because its similiar to a conventional church or is it some weird layout like Parkinson did?
I just spent three hours scribbling diagrams and if I don't go to Gary on this my head is going to explode.
He never got back to me on that e-mail that I just made a few weeks ago so...
I guess a picture might have to wait.

Gene, just draw it the way you imagine it would look like, or how you think it should look. This might be one of those descriptive phrases that is simply inherently difficult to illustrate. Sort of like the way H.P. Lovecraft described the angles of the cyclopean towers of R'Lyeh as having the "wrong geometry" or being "non-Euclidean."
According to the map, the Temple appears to have a layout quite similar to a gothic cathedral.
But, you know, I don't want you to drive yourself insane trying to visualize the creations of the Mad Archimage:
"And then we found him... Gene Weigel, former gadfly of the internet AD&D and Greyhawk communities, once lauded for his ascerbic wit and biting humor... but now, sadly reduced to a gibbering mess, sitting in the corner with charcoal-smudged fingers and various scraps of paper, muttering something about 'odd peaks' and 'teeth on edge.' Sad, really."

Rather than do that any other Greyhawk pictures to draw?
I'm taking suggestions from everybody.
I going to not be busy the next month or so and I I'd really like to draw some Greyhawk stuff.

Why don't you do a picture of the original EEG temple from the G series, or something creepy from the Forgotten Temple of Tharizdun. Scott

A picture of Obmi would be awesome! ;-)
A montage of THE KEEP ON THE BORDERLANDS could be really cool. Scott's ideas are great, as well. Regards.

How about a picture of Lareth, similar to the one from the original T1, but with the correct "eye" symbol. Scott

I was reading the Fire Giant EEG temple and the forgotten Hill Giant temple from G1 last night and they are very colorful.
Obmi might be a good quick picture.
Robilar and Mordenkainen might be interesting too.

Robilar and Mordenkainen might be interesting too. Fighting a giant robotic weasel, or atop a futuristic tower fighting a balrog in the City of the Gods? Scott

Sorry had a major drama last week at work and had to go visit some relatives for late Xmas presents as well.
Back to the "drawing board".
Obmi must have a good description from Artifact of Evil, Sea of Death and G3. Plus there was that recent Dragon Magazine a few years back with Gary reminiscing about Obmi in the Castle Greyhawk dungeons.
Maybe in a "sand ship" in SEA OF DEATH?
I think those temples might be cool but a little tough considering the coloration as a major factor. (I was planning on sketching)
I actually have a Eclvdra character sheet picture from the 1980's that I drew but it may have later influences.
(I'll see if I can dig that up.)
The Gary/Rob Vs Balrog or weasel pic is definitely a "doer" though. I've always wanted to draw Robilar but should I make him look a little like Rob?

Very cool. Yeah, Iuz is my favorite, too. I prefer my Demoness Queens quite a bit more seductive, in the classic swords and sorcery tradition. ;-) Regards.
