How much would it typically cost PCs to have an NPC cast an identify spell?
Material component requirement is 100 gp pearl, and it temporarily negatively impacts the constitution of the spell caster, perhaps even to the point of unconsciousness?
About 500 gp or so?

My NPCs usually have other, unspecified ways of identifying items. Price varies and a service is often accepted in lieu of gold.

Here is how I handle it:
For low level characters, they can use clerics of the exact same alignment (preferably of that religion) who give lower level discounts for true seeing but institutions (guilds) will have non-player accessible ways and means either by experts or magic.
The identify spell is more of a thing for countryside/field/sticks usage.
Usually if its related to a class its known by name level characters what a magic item is. For instance, a heroism potion is automatically known by a lord. A wand of fireballs is automatically known by a wizard (11th and up). But, handlers of magic merchandise are not fools either.
If a an NPC out in the middle of nowhere charges for an identify spell then I go by UA 200 per spell level at double cost:
400gp
