How do you make the ruling for multi-classed cleric/ranger hit points per UA minimums, here is the scenario:
17 constitution, rolled 1d8 7hp cleric, rolled 2d8 5 hp ranger
What ruling would you make starting hit points for this first level character, and the calculation?

So RANGER 9 CLERIC 5 5+9/2 = 7
CON +3 + 7 = 10

Con bonus is added to each hit die, by class, before dividing, so the cleric hit die gets +2 and the ranger dice get +3 each, so the UA minimum for a cleric/ranger with a 17 Con is: [(5+2)+(9+6)]/2 = 11
Your rolls (including Con bonus) are [(7+2)+(5+6)]/2 = 10, so the character gets a bump to meet the minimum - the good roll for the cleric die was negated by the bad rolls on the ranger dice.

Thanks for the clarification - I am a rookie with UA but am fully incorporating UA and Trent's expansion rules in this new campaign!

I don't allow bonus averages because they're going to ask for no level limits next. Traditionally, anyway, I don't know about these days. What is this? A stat?
A lot of DMs used averages on starting money like that.
