It looks cool as a model, but I'm not a fan of that much in-game. There are parts of the ToEE that I always thought would make excellent dioramas.

Not sure about the playability of it, but I admire the ambition and the attention to detail.
I think overall, miniatures and miniature terrain work best as occasional set pieces or for large combats to track where everyone is. Most of the time 'theater of the mind' with some sketches on graph paper is sufficient -- or even preferable.
