I'm always looking for an alternative, so when GeneBook launches, let me know.

My participation in FaceBook is minimal. Facebook has turned into an echo chamber of idiocy. That and a bunch of advertisements and click-bait.

Its as if you become familiar with peripherals and then its like are these people stable? Somebody who LIKEd my posts everyday was getting virtually "talked off a roof" yesterday. What a wake up call!

Almost three months off FACEBOOK and its been a pleasure cruise. All the assholes are so addicted to it they don't know how to approach me outside of it.
I think the pitfalls of it are that you think its a social network but its the antithesis of how to have a social gathering.

Early on I had a "friend", some kid I vaguely knew from my late teens, go off on a political rant and attack other friends. I've been blocking and unfriending ever since.

The only thing that was stopping me was a nonD&D high school friend was trying to rekindle our glib friendship. Turns out it was a cry for financial help. Ah geez...

Heh, the context that I wrote "non-D&D friend" in the early 80's... TRANSLATION: not cool

Its my one year anniversary off Facebook today. Holy crap! Heh, I wouldn't have realized it but I got an e-mail from Twitter this morning telling me the updates of people who follow me on the Twitter service and its of course, everyone that I never wanted to hear about on Facebook. So thats it, I just deactivated my Twitter account. I don't get bothered by the Google Plus "circles" so thats the only thing that I'm staying with. So if anybody wants to hook up D&D related crap with me on there here is my profile: plus.google.com/u/0/110690006958853908326

I was thinking of quitting Facebook just for sheer number of political postings alone. Even if you support a certain candidate, do you really want to read 5+ postings per day supporting that person and/or attacking other candidates?
But, it's easy enough to just ignore the newsfeed.

Its not even the politics, but its bad especially when pols are outspoken (all of them?), to me its the airing of financial problems that is the deal breaker.

Heh, I just one upped my FACEBOOK ditch. I haven't talked to anyone in my patrilineal or matrilineal lines in over one year. FACEBOOK turned out to be the most useful tool ever. Now I just have to put up with my wife's family... cringe... WAIT! COME BACK!

My son rebooted my FACEBOOK from an e-mail about FACEBOOK not hearing from meso I deleted all contacts ("friends") and photos (I got it down to 5 seconds at a time for deleting photos and there were about 500!)

Been off of Facebook roughly 5 years now. Don't miss it. Not even sure I could remember login/password any longer!

Besides Facebook and the various forums, I'm not sure how else to get the word out about & Magazine It's hard enough with a niche, PDF only, magazine. That focuses on "old school D&D" but really 1E the most. There's only so many folks that want to download it. If y'all have any other good ideas then I'm up for it! So I'll stick there for a bit. Though I think I have more D&Ders as "friends" than family or FtF friends. Be well, --Ron--

I don't want to blow you off but I really can't say. I have a following but I can't translate that over to other people's efforts.
I've seen this magazine before what is its goal? Is it all contributions?

Not being on FACEBOOK is actually worse than being on FACEBOOK because they talk about the people that they know aren't on. My extended family's favorite topics are: A) The weather tonight or for the weekend B) Whats playing C) Gene's heartlessness

You're not missing much. Cat videos. Food pictures. Selfies of people who want you to know how wonderful their lives are. A million Trump and Hillary posts to, you know, help you make up your mind. Real lowest common denominator stuff.

I've seen this magazine before what is its goal? Is it all contributions? It's all volunteer. Focus is 1E AD&D, but earlier versions of D&D have slipped in and are welcome. We try, to varying degrees of success, to be themed and quarterly. & Publishing also does other things like modules, supplements, a regular megadungeon (Triskelion) and host the Wizardawn site. But & Magazine has been the major driving force at this point. Everything is volunteer, nonprofit and free. A lot of the contributions come from regular contributors and the editorial staff, but there are definitely outside contributors. We've had stuff from Stuart Marshall, and have helped artists get paying gigs, which is really cool to see. Our most recent Art Director, Del Teigler, supplied a lot to Jeff Talanian's most recent project: mavfire.blogspot.com/2016/11/astonishing-swordsmen-sorcerers.htmlAnyone know an artist who'd like to be an (unpaid) Art Director? Anyway I think that's it in a nutshell. Sorry for the late response. It's interesting trying to increase readership. Thanks for asking! --Ron--

I honestly don't know any art people at all. I could contribute and maybe help some though. So just count me in if you need some stuff.
