Greg, or anybody else, have you ever converted D&D PCs/NPCs to Mythus? I'm curious to see how you would stat up characters like Tenser, Mordenkainen, Erac's Cousin, etc.

I statted a few characters (Woodstock and a great mage named Zelystir... ), but I never did any of the Notables of Gary's Greyhawk... it's fairly easy once you do it a couple of times.

I still need more experience with the system. I don't know what a long standing, powerful HP would look like, the Mythus equivalent of Tenser or Robilar.

well, let's look at Tenser, using the stats from the Rogue's Gallery:
S: 10 I: 16 W: 11 D: 16 C: 16 CH: 18
Gary has a conversion chart for stats in the DJ Mythus Handbook on pages 391 and 392. So, we take a strength of 10 and add 3, and looking at the chart, that gives us PMPow and PNPow of 13 each. The Intelligence score remains the same, so a MRCap and MMCap of 16. Wisdom adds 3, so an SMCap and SPCap of 14 each. Dexterity stays the same, so PNCap and PNSpd of 16 each. Constitution of 16 also stays the same, so PMPow and PNCap of 16. Charisma doesn't alter, so an SPPow of 18. Now we go back and fix any discrepencies (if an ATTRIBUTE is higher in one than another then use the higher for Capand the average for the Pow or Spd; and all Cap's must be as high or higher than their respective Pow's and Spd's. This gives us: PMCap=16 PMPow=15 PMSpd=? PNCap=16 PNPow=? PNSpd=16 MRCap=16 MRPow=? MRSpd=? MMCap=16 MMPow=? MMSpd=? SMCap=14 SMPow=? SMSpd=? SPCap=18 SPPow=18 SPSpd=?
Now you have to fill in the question marks--Tenser being what he is, I would go lower on the PMSpd and PNPow (maybe 10 or 11), go 16's on MRSpd, MMPow, and MMSpd, and go medial on SMPow, SMSpd and SPSpd (so, 12 - 14). Then just add it up and see what you've got.

The STEEP would be the tough part. Tenser started as a neutral, so he might have a high gray school STEEP, then concentrating on white after his conversion, rounded out by the other schools. Liking to mix it up like he does, he might have a hand to hand combat rating higher than a mage of similar status. 7th level was his max spell level in the Rogues Gallery version, so would you base his STEEP on that?

Using the Rogues Gallery example; yes--so, Grade VII Castings (and the STEEP necessary thereof). Along with his General Dweomercraeft Castings, I would give him a high STEEP in Elemental as well, then followed by Grey... Note how his high Con and Dex combine to offset his rather low Str to give him an over-all good Physical TRAIT. This is a rather high one for your average Dweomercraefter (M-U). Caps of 12 or less would be more common!

Once you become familiar with the system, you can also "wing it" to approximate the stats of any given character, and you'll find that you're quite accurate...

Going back to an earlier posting elsewhere, Gary says that he doubts he'll have time to run/play any MYTHUS, but he did like your "ride in the Cadillac" comment! ^__^

You'd better hammer down whatever you're going to do with him soon because my cousin Bill didn't get a chance for him to sign anything.
