Well, as you may or may not know there has been talk between myself Gail Gygax and Spencer Wright about signing a NDF so as to prevent me from releasing any material I might have or develop.
I have seen no such form in my mail box ???so all the corrections, extras, and developments that I have that are non copy-written by T$R/Wotcoup/Hasben might as well be posted and shared among those of us who could make use of it.
Of course “megabytes of computer files” would be no problem to a guy who has over 2.5T of space. And I think you would know the information would be put to good use. ;D
[glow=red,2,300]In fact, for this particular set of material, it may be the only way that Gary would get these ideas to light in the way he wanted; unlike his other IP’s seeing light the way they were meant to be…[/glow]
And as always, I am still interested in working with you. It is so hard with the limited time and methods available to us to decide when we are together to want to design or game!
LZ and the Phæree Bestiary are the two most pressing things to be done as the system stands now IMHO.
But from a company selling stand point- (This might take a while.)In my mind there are two mindsets when a person comes to buy a new complete R.P.G. system. There are those who want a simple introduction to the complete game system, and there are those who want a more robust complete game system to start with.
Back in the old days this was a simple choice. You could buy the basic D&D set (which had its own world and scenarios one could buy) and stick with it (by buying more products to expand it with little complexity) or, move into the advanced set by following the guidance set forth for doing so in the basic set. The people who would buy the advanced set in the first place would find that it also had its own world and scenarios that one could buy if, again, one found it necessary to expand. And if you needed another genre, you picked up another game.
I think this sort of thing could be done with DJMGRPGS easier and better.
Unlike LA, DJMGRPGS has its own basic set of rules that can lead if one so chooses to the advanced Mythus rules. IF for instance Gygaxian Games could acquire the rights for DJMGRPGS all their LA material could be used for Mythus Prime. That would give Mythus Prime its own background and world as well as adventures. Advanced Mythus would keep Ærth for people who are more interested in history and its ‘what if’ recreations.
So from a company stand point on selling creativity, you would have at the least two game systems, two world settings, two sets of accessories and two sets of supplements. And it could so happen that someone would pick up the basic set, stick with it for some years while buying additions to it, and then decide to move up to the advanced rules and all that goes along with that. And that’s not even counting an endless amount of genres that this robust game system could hold! ;D
So if you hit the Powerball that would be the basic sales format that I would take if given the opportunity.
