I was thinking about reading Black House, the sequel to the Talisman. But in a moment that reminded me just how d I’m getting, I realized it’s been 34 years since I read the Talisman. So I’ve decided to re-read that first. I have fond memories of the book, but they are vague; we’ll see if they stand up.

I haven't read them, but I know what you mean about getting old. I remember THE TALISMAN (1984) being on display at B. Dalton's which seems like fairly long ago, but I still think of BLACK HOUSE (2001) as 'recent' and yet the time interval between the latter and now (over 17 years) is greater than the time interval between the two books (almost 17 years).

I haven’t got there yet, but I’m pretty sure there are some Dark Tower tie-ins. The protagonist, a 12 year old boy named Jack, can plane shift between our world and an alternative reality known as the Territories, which is related the the Dark Tower world.
