I talked about this some in a blog post a few months back. My proposed "solution" at the time was to make the year 336 days long (instead of 360 or 364) and to have the festivals overlap with the months rather than bet extra weeks in-between them. That solves the problem of the "lunar months," but creates enough other problems that since making that post I've pretty much dropped that idea and decided to stick with the 364-day calendar from the 1983 set and just declare that the "savant-sage" was wrong when he wrote about lunar months the same way he was when he talked about the sun orbiting Oerth.

I’m just going with the 83 set too, mainly because my current group of murder hobos don’t care. Me: It’s Patchwall 25th. Players: blank stares. Me: <grumble> October Players: Ooohh, cool. Lets carve pumpkins...
Haven’t even gone down the Sun rotated around the Oerth rabbit hole yet.
