The VOH module moathouse dungeon encounter with the gnolls states that any parley humanoid languages communications must take place in the following languages: gnoll, bugbear, or ogre speech.
The MM gnoll description states that gnolls speak their racial tongue, troll, and often (60%) of the time orcish and/or hobgoblin - no mention of the possibility of communication via bugbear or ogre speech?
Do you recommend following the VOH module here or instead the MM with regards to humanoids languages that the gnolls can communicate with the party?

Two of the moathouse gnolls are armed with great bows in addition to battleaxes per the VOH module description.
Per MM, all gnolls carry swords. So that means the other seven moathouse gnolls fight with bastard swords wielded one-handed with full effect, while two fight with either great bows (treated as composite long bows) or battleaxes?

Theyre religious based gnolls so alignment first for the temple.

I would say if they dont have swords its the specificity of the adventure and for the others just percentages and throw something "swordy" in there.
