Has anyone else read this book or any of Boyer's other books? My sister got this for me early in my D&D days, as a gift for Christmas 1981. I was trying to read everything in the fantasy genre and "find more like Tolkien." At the time, I thought it was just okay. A few years ago, I went back to read it again, and really enjoyed it, and then got her other WORLD OF THE ALFAR and WIZARDS' WAR books and read them, also. I quite liked them, as they drew upon the same Norse inspiration that Tolkien did, but did not feel like Tolkien imitations the way almost all post-LOTR fantasy does.
Note: The four books in the WORLD OF THE ALFAR series are completely independent stories, that can be read in any order. The four books in the WIZARDS' WAR series are all part of a connected story, and should be read in order.
