There is a new starter set out for the new edition. It looks pretty good, space marines vs chaos marines, plus the core hard back rule book. kinda steep, almost $140.00, but I'm very tempted to pick it up. Maybe tonight if I can sneak away for a bit.
Wes has played 8th edition, and can't stop talking about it. There are some things he likes and some things he doesn't like. So far, all the games I've played have been 2nd edition. I'm willing to try 8th edition, but Eric and some other players are not. I know they are playing a 2nd edition game at Wes' house today with seven players -- I can't make it today as I have a family gathering.
And yes, no matter what edition you play, this is an expensive hobby.
It is a nice box set. Over 50 minis, the complete hard back rule book, Primaris Space Marine Codex, Death Guard Codex, dies, ruler, reference card, painting/building book. It's definitely your money's worth of Warhammer loot. Now to start reading, cutting, filing, gluing, painting...
Let me know if you want to play sometime. I think Wes is done until around December, due to the farm. But Ray may host some games. I currently have a bunch of Ultramarines: scouts, Devastators, terminators, captain with thunder hammer, two Dreadnoughts, a tech marine and an Imperial Leman Russ Battle Tank.
