We'd played a Heroscape free for all Friday night with randomly determined 500 point teams. It was Eric, Brian, Ray, Matt Henkel and me. Brian won, with one figure that had 1 hp left standing. It was pretty fun, for a night of mindless miniatures battling...
Have you given any more thought to when you'd like to start up a new D&D night?

I stopped down Eric's shop on Friday and he told me about the game night, but I was already 'booked' for the evening. I'm trying to work out a reliable schedule for having a regular game night, or maybe day, if I go for Saturday afternoons.

I don't know if I am going to start a 'new' campaign. My nephew, cousin, etc. are just getting tough. None of them have ever played the G series, Tomb of Horrors, etc. This is the first time any of them have had high level characters, and I'm looking forward to DMing the high-level classics with a real understanding of the rules for players that are in the dark. I was thinking about letting any new players control a level appropriate NPC for a while along with a PC from scratch, until the character can hang.

Well, I did think that was the direction you were going with "Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth." I don't mind playing a lower level character like Trast with such a party. He'd either die or rise in levels quickly. When I said a new campaign, I really meant just to start up gaming sessions again with some players like Eric and Mark joining in.

That would be ideal. Teach these younglings some subtlety.

It's hard enough when my players live within a 5 mile radius.

I'm actually at work now. I usually have Saturdays off, but some dude in my department had a heart attack, so I'll be working Saturdays until he returns in 5 weeks or so. The guy is only 34 years old. He needed a double bypass. I think he eats at McDonalds like 3 times a day, two breakfasts and a lunch.

Poor guy. Lots of people eat that junk regularly. I love McDonald's but don't eat there more than once a month. And lately it's been fish sandwichs (heh, only slightly less fattening than burgers).
My daughter turned me onto something cool. You can buy the double cheeseburger off the $1 menu and tell to put Big Mac sauce on it.
;D

My daughter called me from work a while ago. They gave them all a break so they could go out and get gas. Rumor is stations are raising the prices every 5 minutes!! I haven't confirmed this, but it doesn't surprise me. We've had a lot of trouble with stations here in Illinois.

Say, anyone know what happened to David Smith (DCAS)? Haven't seen him around any forums in a while.

Didn't he say something about writing something for Yggsburgh a while back? Didn't all that get scrapped?

He was working on a district. Not sure of the status. Some were released. The rest were removed from the pending products list.

Maybe he got honked off at the whole RPG scene, threw up his arms in despair, and walked off saying: "That's it! I'm outta here!!"

Scott, do you have any maps or colored pencil drawings I could look at?

Nothing at the moment. If I can keep the current game together, I'll be able to run some of the stuff I've written, and drawn maps for.

And by the way, I'll be at work until 2:30 and could use some entertainment.
